The parish church of Sant’Antonio Abate (Sant’Antoni ‘e su Fogu) was built in 1758 by order of Don Luigi Solinas, canon penitentiary of Alghero Cathedral.

Inside, the large nave with barrel vault immediately draws the attention. Along the sides of the nave, there are six chapels, added at the start of the 19th century, each of which preserves precious eighteenth-century paintings and wooden statues.

The presbytery is connected to two of the side chapels while the transept, also featuring a barrel vault, stands out for the elegance of the round arches.

The marble floor and the windows above the arches of the side chapels help make the space bright and sophisticated.

The pulpit is decorated with a bas-relief that depicts Sant’Antonio Abate surrounded by animals. This detail refers to one of the most characteristic aspects of the Saint, who is regarded as the protector of pets.

The entrance portal is finely decorated. The half columns, the pilasters with capitals adorned with leaves and scrolls and the trabeation with open tympanum are evidence of the skill of the artisans who worked on the building’s construction.

Above the portal, the simple, linear façade culminates in a rectangular window that bestows balance.

At the side, the quadrangular bell tower and its spire harmoniously complete the structure.
