A short distance from Villanovaforru, in the countryside around Lunamatròna, stands the Trobas nuraghe, which archaeologist Giovanni Lilliu believes is as an unfinished nuraghe used as a large hut during the Middle Bronze Age (17th-16th century BC). A number of small votive jars were found inside it, which are thought to be related to foundation rituals or offerings. However, some may have been made by children and used as toys.
